Red Carpet Dreams

What job would give you goose bumps in the morning?  In your mind’s eye what is something that you are willing to go to hell and back for?  It is that thing that you dismiss as unpractical. That thing that would give you purpose and joy! What thing creates a longing that sometimes hurts when you think of it? That one – that crazy stupid red carpet dream

Remember this is your dream and no one else. Don’t try to justify it to your friends, family or anyone else in the world. This is the moment of the Uber-ich. Did you know that modern day psychology literally misinterpreted Freud?

You’ve heard of the id, ego and super ego? The super ego in German is Uber-ich. Uber-ich was interpreted as super ego.  A super ego is a pesky judgmental part of you that wags its finger at you. But that is not what Freud meant! Uber-ich means above I. Who would you be if you chose to live your  life as above I.  Above who you expect yourself to be? Now here comes the important part!

Write it down excite yourself scare yourself become Uber-ich.  It doesn’t mean you won’t refine it and revamp it later. But it isn’t later it’s now.  So right now stuffed with turkey and grinning remember how to dream.  Will you act on it?  I don’t know. But what I do know is you have to acknowledge and recognize it first for anything to happen. Invite it in and start a conversation. It may know things about you that you have forgotten. I am not asking you to write a mission statement. I am asking you to find a part of yourself that needs to speak . Go inside, look deeply. Sweet dreams!
